Brooklyn Snowman Sells House!
Written by JohnReinhardt
The question came up from a seller and I thought it would be a good one to throw out there for the experts to ponder. How does Frosty on the front lawn affect the homes value, if it does at all? The comments around the block so far have been quite interesting.
Snowmen make people smile, and that’s a good thing. I love it when people pass by the snowman and you can see the reaction on their faces. It’s like we’re all kids again. If I can get my prospective buyer to smile as they’re walking in the door, we’ve already added a little edge to the outlook of the home.
“Kids Can Play Here,” is the message that buyers want to see when they’re looking for a new home where their kids can enjoy the fun of the block. This is a great Brooklyn block where the neighbors get together and build the biggest snowman. I like that message.
I would love to hear your comments on this one.
I’m going to suggest that although the extra value may soon melt away, those buyers that pass by and visit the home will have a better feeling about the house. It’s like walking into a home with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies…it feels like a home.
Anything that we can do to make our properties stand out today on the market can’t hurt and certainly might help.
The extra visibility and attention to the home are also side benefits.
I don’t know if we’re going to be building snowmen on every home next to the For Sale sign; but if we did, it would be fun and it just might work.
NB: This post was written as I am sitting at an Open House on a snowy day; looking at the snowman from the window.
Let your mind go….enjoy the snow.
And let me know your thoughts in the comments. Thanks!

I feel If you make a snowman that looks nice has everything right on him/her, it will help to sell the house. Its just like putting yourself together you look nice, speak right and act right you can sell a house. 100% effort brings 100% back as anything you do.

Thing like this make a house a home, just like I had mentioned the smell of cookies when I first saw the snowman. You want an owner to sell their “house” but a buyer needs to buy a “home”
